Job Description


ROLE DESCRIPTION:

SQL DBA & Application / Web Developer
  • Ability to analyze existing data, tables, queries, stored procedures and reports to determine application operation
  • Ability to quickly and succinctly troubleshoot application and data issues from user observations; must be able to work closely with users to determine requirements
  • Thought leader who can envision innovative solutions which drive improvements for overall organizational information delivery
  • Ability to recommend and implement timely and appropriate solutions, including:
  • Changes to SQL objects, web-based reports, and various home-grown and off-the-shelf applications
  • Small application development using Operational Data Stores (ODS) architecture or similar
  • Creating or changing data tables, queries, stored procedures, reports and web pages
  • Integration with other mainframe and non-mainframe applications
  • Updating / refreshing test environments; following version control and change control processes
  • Support user requests to research specific questions related to SQL or other relational data stores
  • Must be a self-starter who can leverage multiple sources for technical support (e.g., Stack Overflow, user groups, Google)
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities to deliver to deadlines; resilient when faced with rapidly changing demands:
  • Develops, modifies, and provides input to project plans; experienced in Waterfall or Agile SDLC methodologies
  • Proficient in prioritizing and completing projects and assigned tasks to time, budget, schedule, yet flexible to change priorities when necessary
  • Contribute to IT Project Roadmap: input to strategic planning, create tactical plans, drive project delivery in line with overall IT Strategy and Master Plan
  • Ensures appropriate application- or development-related training and documentation are made available to users (IT and / or Business, as appropriate)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong Experience (2-3 yrs)
  • MS Power BI (preferred) or Tableau
  • Visual Modeling, KPI Dashboards
  • Data transformation, Operational Data Stores, Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema Data Architecture or Data Cubes
  • SQL Server 2008 and 2012
  • SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) (version 2008R2 minimum
  • SQL queries, stored procedures: creating, modifying, debugging
  • Web App development using ASP.net Web Forms
  • Web Services
  • Intermediate Experience (1-2 yrs)
  • Visual Basic (VB), including VB.net, VBA and vbscript
  • VB development, VB desktop app development or MS Access form design experience
